Anti-Hazing Policy

Saint Vincent's is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and healing environment for the youth and families we serve, free of intimidation or coercion of any manner. Accordingly, Saint Vincent's prohibits hazing of any kind, defined by M.G.L, Chapter 269, Section 17 as: "any conduct or method of initiation into any youth organization, whether on public or private property, which willfully or recklessly endangers the physical or mental health of any youth or other person.

Bullying Prevention Policy

Everyone at Saint Vincent's School is committed to making our school a safe, therapeutic place for all students. All staff and students will treat each other with respect, and will refuse to tolerate bullying of any kind. In addition, cyber-bullying, even if it occurs off of school grounds, will not be tolerated. Saint Vincent's will make every effort to protect Therapeutic Day School and Residential Education students from any aggressor including all members of the staff but not limited to: educators, administrators, health services members, custodians, cafeteria workers, coaches, bus drivers, paraprofessionals, and extra-curricular advisors.

Inclement Weather Policy

Saint Vincent’s Therapeutic Day School will be closed when Fall River Public Schools are closed due to severe weather, heavy snowfall, icy streets or when other hazards make streets unsafe. Transportation for Day School Students will also be cancelled on these days.

Our school does not have early release days scheduled. In the case of severe weather, students may be released early in order to get them home safely. Saint Vincent’s staff will contact the transportation company as well as the parent/ guardian to ensure someone is home to receive the student.

Parents/guardians can listen to radio and television stations listed below or call Saint Vincent’s Day School cancellation line at 1-508-679-8511, ext. 3676 beginning at 5:30 a.m. to find out if school has been cancelled.
