Comcast Cares Day a Success for Second Year

As part of the 9th Annual Comcast Cares Day, one of the largest single-day corporate volunteer efforts in the country, local Comcast employees, their family members, and friends gathered in Fall River at Saint Vincent’s Home where they painted, landscaped, and installed ceiling tiles.

“Comcast is proud to be an active member of the Fall River community and Comcast Cares Day is our commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve,” said Mary McLaughlin, Area Vice President for Comcast. “There is nothing more rewarding than giving back, and I’m grateful to the volunteers who turned out today to donate their time to help make a difference.”

“We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with Comcast on Comcast Cares Day, and we are truly grateful to the employees and their family members who have volunteered their personal time on a Saturday,” said Jack Weldon, Executive Director of Saint Vincent’s. “Through their efforts, Comcast volunteers are contributing to the creation of a comfortable and well-maintained environment for the children and youth who live at Saint Vincent’s. It is truly inspiring to work alongside a group of dedicated Comcast volunteers on a project that has such a positive effect on the children and families in our community,” Mr. Weldon added.

Comcast Cares Day is one way that Comcast helps power the dreams of local communities as part of the company’s year-round commitment to making a difference in the communities it serves. This year’s day of service attracted more than 55,000 Comcast employees and their families to more than 500 community sites nationwide. In New England, nearly 5,000 volunteers pitched in at more than 50 different sites, including Saint Vincent’s.
