Mechanics Cooperative Bank to Sponsor Summer Celebration

Saint Vincent’s is pleased to announce for a second year, that Mechanics Cooperative Bank will serve as the Title Sponsor of the 2nd Annual Kick-Off To Summer Celebration on Friday, June 25th from 6PM to 10PM on the deck of the Battleship Massachusetts.  Mechanics Cooperative Bank’s $12,500 sponsorship represents the largest corporate sponsorship of the celebration.

Back by popular demand, the evening celebration overlooking Fall River’s waterfront will include complimentary beer and wine, cash bar, gourmet dinner, dancing to the sounds of the Compaq Big Band, and both silent and live auctions emceed by celebrity guest Billy Costa, host of NECN’s TV Diner.  The successful fundraiser is expected to draw over 250 residents from Southeastern Massachusetts as well as guests from as far away as Woodstock, VT.

The 2nd Annual Kick-Off To Summer Celebration promises to once again be a fun and festive celebration to signal the start of the summer season.  “Mechanics Cooperative Bank is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2nd Annual Kick-Off To Summer Celebration,” said Joseph T. Baptista, Jr., Mechanics Cooperative Bank's President and CEO.  "We are pleased to support Saint Vincent’s efforts to provide a safe haven for so many children and families in our community,” Baptista said.  Proceeds from the Summer Celebration will help to raise crucial funds benefiting the youth in Saint Vincent’s Life Skills program.  Funds raised will provide opportunities for youth to learn the necessary skills to live independently, instruction in financial and computer literacy, specific school-to-work experiences, assessment and training in job-related capacities, job coaching, and career development.

The evening’s gourmet dinner will include a clam and oyster raw bar by Cuttyhunk Shellfish Farms and feature food stations prepared by Lafrance Hospitality, Ma Raffa’s, Mesa 21, Trio Café and Lounge, and the Waterfront Grille in New Bedford.  Domestic and imported beers will be available, compliments of Quality Beverage, as well as local wines produced by Running Brook Vineyard and Winery of Dartmouth, MA.

Exclusive Silent and Live Auctions will feature over 50 items including destination packages to Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island, autographed sports memorabilia, golf outings, jewelry, and two round-trip airplane tickets to anywhere in the continental United States donated by Southwest Airlines.  Tickets to the celebration are $100 per person and may be purchased by contacting Melissa Dick at (508) 235-3228.
